Uses
Sublingual administration is the most effective method to administer our CBD oil tinctures. They can also be applied to the skin or added to food.
To apply our oil using sublingual administration you simply extract the dosage you wish to administer into the 1.0ml dropper. Take the dropper and apply it underneath your tongue. Allow it to remain under your tongue from 30-90 seconds, and then you may orally ingest it.
- Why Sublingual administration?
- There are many capillaries in your cheek and under your tongue that allow CBD and other nutrients to absorb rapidly into the bloodstream.
- How rapid you ask?
- You may begin experiencing effects within minutes and will experience peak level effects in about an hour. [1]
- How long does it last?
- Sublingual administration allows CBD to provide relief for a duration of more than eight hours. [2]
- The Entourage Effect
- The entourage effect occurs when terpenes within the cannabis (Hemp = Cannabis Sativa L.) plant interact with the body to produce a stronger effect than any of the components would alone. These components interact with the recently discovered Endocannabinoid System in our bodies.
- What is the Endocannabinoid system?
- The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) was discovered in the early 1990s and scientists understand that it regulates a range of body functions and processes including:
- Sleep
- Mood
- Appetite
- Memory
- Reproduction & Fertility
- Why do you mix MCT oil with CBD?
- Research done by the University of Nottingham found that a combination of healthy fats and cannabinoids administered to rats increased cannabinoid uptake three-fold. [3] There is lots of research out there showing how essential healthy fats are to us and how they are effective carriers for two of the main cannabinoids within the Cannabis plant, THC and CBD.
- Hey, why did my CBD oil turn pink?
- MCT coconut and cannabinoids contain enzymes called polyphenol oxidase. Polyphenols are enzymes that are naturally occurring in antioxidants. Well our Broad-Spectrum CBD oil is jampacked with antioxidants that can oxidize when exposed to light, heat, and/or oxygen. Therefore, we recommend storing our CBD oil in a dark cool place.
